The blessed month Ramadan is once again upon us and like last year, this Ramadan falls during a time when Barbados is facing extreme challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the impacts of the volcanic eruption in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
For millions of Muslims worldwide, Ramadan is a time for reflection and regaining closeness to our Creator. We do this through fasting, increasing our prayer, reading of the Quran, and working on perfecting habits that emulate the Sunnah of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
With the difficulties being faced globally and the added stress of being confined to one’s home, unable to interact in person, gather for daily prayers with our sisters and brothers, enjoy Iftaar with extended family and friends or even volunteer at a charitable event, BAML has created a number of exciting Ramadan activities for children and adults. We have shared these below, with regular updates to be posted on our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
1. Moon Sighting and Fasting Tracker for Children
Through our colourful and interactive printable tracker, your child/ward can record the sighting of the moon and track their fasts.

No printer? No problem! Download the image on your phone, and edit daily!
2. Certificate For Fasting
Children are thrilled to receive letters in the mail, especially when it’s a reward!
At the end of Ramadan, share the number of fasts your child/ward has completed with us and we will mail them a special Certificate For Fasting. Click here to take a look at some of the kiddies who were rewarded last year.
Stay tuned to our Facebook and Instagram page for further details on how to share your child/ward’s information with us.
*If you are interested in sponsoring this initiative feel free to reach out to us.
